When you do something good for someone else you're doing something good for yourself”- Cyndi Lauper This Italian fan site is dedicated to a very special woman: Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper Thornton, the girl who totally blew me away since my very first live experience in my hometown Milan back to that cold day in march 1987, the one who has been inspiring me like no one else did over the years and who has been teaching me so many important features related to life and the importance to always fight and stand for what we believe in. A special woman whose commitment to civil rights and dedication to people has always been outstanding, a soul who is such a great example to follow in everyday life situations and challenges, who always brings sunshine with her music and temper, gives joy, hope and love so generously all around her. A special person with a huge heart who never ceases to surprise me with her attitudes and behaviour.

Cyndi’s huge talent is no mystery at all: a multi-faceted versatile artist who has been exploring and giving the best in many music genres, the one who cares for each and every aspect of everything she does, the one who can totally lead her shows without any other contributions on stage apart from her band. Cyndi has always been having such a special attention to her audience, and the ability she has to connect with them is beyond anything one could think.
Such a professional in every aspect of her multiple activities, from music to acting, television and her numerous charities. Cyndi has always been caring for civil rights and giving love so generously all around her, so amazingly caring for her fans all around the world.
An unwavering advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality since the start of her career, Cyndi founded the True Colors Fund in 2008, an institution to inspire and engage everyone, especially straight people, to become active participants in the advancement of gay, lesbian, bisexual and trangender equality and to raise awareness about and bring an end to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth homelessness. To combat fear and hate-and perhaps keep kids from getting thrown out by their parents- Cyndi Lauper’s fund launched the “Give a Damn” Campaign In April 2010 to “call out to other straight people and show them the real things at stake”. Her amazing soul can be described through one of her last quotes: ''When you do something good for someone else you're doing something good for yourself”.
Cyndi Lauper - JAPAN TOUR 2012

Cyndi really has always been doing and does a lot for the other people in several aspects of her activity. All that she did in Japan last march 2011 is worth to be mentioned and highlighted in a special way. Cyndi was right heading there for her “Memphis Blues” tour when the earthquake and tzunami occurred! She was scheduled to land at Narita International Airport shortly after the biggest earthquake ever measured in Japan struck of the northeast coast on Friday March 11th afternoon. Cyndi’s plane stayed in the air for an additional six hours. Her flight was diverted to the U.S. Air Force base in Yokota, where she landed about 10pm. From there she was transferred to a flight to Haneda Airport in the capital. Chaos in the city was such that she finally reached her hotel at 4:30am. Through her twitter, Cyndi described what was happening there at the hotel, with all the stranded people who had to lay down on the floor in the lobby as they could not reach their home.
Cyndi was really brave and decided not to give up, she went ahead with her planned Japan tour in spite of the recent disaster and she did not abandon her fans. She decided to carry out her shows there despite the disaster, because she wanted to give the people there the chance to forget devastation even for a while, with her uplifting music. She played in Nagoya, did three concerts in Tokyo as scheduled and two in Osaka, and she collected several donations for the japanese red cross throughout all the Japanese tour during her concerts.
What she did in Japan was so touching, so amazing and so encouraging for the people there, she gave her Japanese fans the chance to see her, listen to her and use her uplifting blues to take the courage to face reality and go on with everyday life. I personally really think that all that Cyndi did for Japan will always bring relief and had a real power to heal.
During her stay in Japan, Cyndi kept communicating with her fans through twitter, and she was always trying to send hope and support to the people, instead of focusing on fear.
She decided to focus on the positive side of life, this life which was continuing in Tokyo. As she was tweeting: “I was trying to focus on the light endearing things instead of all the dread. There was so much playing of the same video, it instilled fear”.
Cyndi also recently designed a special T-shirt for Japan which is on sale in several countries since June 25th this year (see charity section of this site for all the information on this charity).
Cyndi Lauper is positivity and sunshine, her smile is a rainbow on everybody’s lives.
I still have so much to say and share,” she says. “I’m grateful for each and every day that I get to make music. As long as there’s a corner of the world where people want to hear me, I’ll be there… singing and acting and writing my heart out.”
And we’ll be there Cyndi, to give you back all the love you have always been giving and you always do, so generously to all of us.
